Introducing Nerdwerk
Where it started
I wanted to create Nerdwerk over 15 years ago. Finishing my bachelor degree at University and ready to conquer the world. Realistically I did not know shit, so … I also postponed the idea to create the company. Eventually I have not even purchased a single domain on my own bt that time. So I continued with the Masters degree, and afterwards started codebryo as my name and domain. Oh my … fast forward, and after purchasing the nerdwerk.dev domain which was still free I got approached to buy the .com version. Well I did. And with that felt ready to take this to the next level.
Where we stand
With Nerdwerk I am building the brand I wanted to build for a looooong time as you see. But now I know a little more than I did 15 years ago. So today Nerdwerk exists to push forward what I learned and strongly believe in.
- Strong Engineering Teams can be built
- Building great products needs taste
- Europe has talent, and the sky is the limit
I also believe in Open Source, and autonomy. Taking back control of the web site by site, idea by idea and day by day. Greatness lies beyond Silicon Valley, as long as you unlock it.
What you’ll find here
The journal is a snapshot of work in progress, wild ideas or how to unlock unexpected potential with the right tooling. Expect notes on process, breakdowns of experiments in design and development, and reflections on the lessons picked up along the way. Here I plan to share longform posts, not written for the masses, but written for the people ready to come on a journey.
What’s next
As I am building the brand (ideally with videos, content, code, …) I’ll be reflecting end of next year where the journey took me. If you like to have a front row seat, not miss a longform post and read about opinions. Check out my newsletter.
Let’s see where this takes us, and I appreciate ever person joining me on that journey.
